Short Description
Sokolovské strojírny (Sokolov Machine Works) is a joint-stock company with a long-lasting tradition in the field of repairs and reconstructions of giant machines, production and assembly of steel structures of all types and sizes. The production divisions of Sokolov and Cheb dispose of large shop floors and modern engineering equipment. The capacity of steel structures production reaches approx. 200 t per month. We are able, according to costumer's request, to prepare the necessary design documentation, including static calculations, possibly according to a project, the proper production documentation. If you are interested in, we are capable of providing the supply of equipment as a turn key project, including the supply, for example, jacketing, roofing, brightening, and the like.
Company History
Sokolovské strojírny a.s. was established on 1.5.1992 by privatization of the state-owned enterprise Sokolovské strojírny Sokolov. However, the company origin dates already back to the year of 1931, when the company started to operate under the name of the Centrální dílna hnědouhelných dolů a briketáren (Central Workshop of Brown Coal Mines and Briquet Works). In the year of 1953, the company was operating under the name of Centrální dílna Sokolov (Central Workshop of Sokolov), and since 1969 this company has been called Sokolovské strojírny. A large amount of company activities is connected with the company Sokolovská uhelná, a.s. (Sokolov Coal Mining Company, joint stock company)
